Mr Ioannis Pengas MBChB FRCS MPhil MD
Mr Pengas is a knee specialist who offers solutions to sport related knee injuries as well as osteoarthritic knee pain. His practice includes all aspects of knee surgery with focus on biological solutions, arthroscopic surgery, ligament reconstruction / repair, meniscus preservation solutions, joint preservation including osteotomy and focal resurfacing, partial and total knee replacement.
Mr Pengas is a current member of the Biological Knee Society and co-convener for the upcoming annual meeting that will take place in Cambridge in January 2020. His keen interest in non-operative treatment modalities that have the potential to prolong the function of the native joint (by postponing or preventing surgery). As a result he teamed-up with other healthcare professionals and has established the SWSO team.

Dr Chris Ireland BSc(Hons) MBBS MRCGP PgD(SEM)
Dr Chris Ireland qualified from St George’s Medical School, London. With a keen interest in sports medicine from early in his career, he pursued electives in trauma surgery in New York, junior doctor training through orthopaedics and emergency medicine before studying Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of Wales.
He currently practices in the NHS Musculoskeletal Interface Service and works for the University of Exeter as an Associate for the National Institute of Health Research. He has an specialist interest in musculoskeletal injuries and their non-surgical management in shoulders, hips and knees. He enjoys surfing, basketball, functional fitness and swimming, spending his remaining time with his young family.

Tim Powell MCSP MSc
Tim qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2001 from King's College London. After a brief period of working in the NHS, he worked with the military and this allowed to develop his interest in sports & exercise injuries. He has completed masters degree training in sports & exercise medicine. Over the years Tim has provided physiotherapy support to numerous athletes competing at international level in Women's rugby, Women's football, Sailing, Swimming, Tae kwon-do, Modern Pentathlon and Platform Diving, attending at several international meets as part of the medical support team.
He is works in the NHS as part of the knee orthopaedic surgical team as the county knee specialist physiotherapist. Tim also has a strong research interest, achieving funding to undertake clinical research with focus on hip pain in young adults.

Andrew McCauley MSc BSc CSCS HCPC MCSP
Andrew is a sports scientist, sports medicine practitioner, senior NHS physiotherapist and sports and conditioning leader who trains other physios in the UK. He worked in London as a physiotherapist for four years (2005-2009) including St Bartholomew's Hospital and Royal London Hospital (part of Tower Hamlets Trust). When not working in conjunction with SWSO at his private clinic at ProCare, he works as an NHS Extended Scope Practitioner (a senior clinician with advanced assessment skills), specialising in hips, knees and shoulders, and working closely with surgeons, physiotherapists and GPs.
Andrew is very passionate about education and runs a course for physiotherapists called 'Unravelling Strength & Conditioning' for Therapists'.
